I was on spring break this week and it has been wonderful. I've been building a mental to-do list for months and have never been so excited about doing chores. Top take aways from the Wonderful Week of Spring Break:
- I love the sunshine: Taking my dog for her daily walks (which Carter usually does) and going for jogs around City Park has been so nice. The weather's been great this week and the smell of sunscreen and feeling warm sunshine on my skin are two of my favorite things.
- Making way for Spring: Doesn't it feel so nice to clear out all of the dead stuff in your yard and see everything green and fresh growing in underneath? The house has been cleared of winter stuff, spring cleaned and cleared of clutter. Ahhh.
- I actually enjoy painting. Who knew? A fresh coat of paint has been applied to the interior of the house. Everything feels clean and new. We moved into our house 3 years ago, but I just recently noticed our moving dings/miscellaneous areas in need of touching up. And once you notice these things, you can't stop obsessing over them. This was my major project this week and turned out pretty darn well.
- I Love Technology: More specifically, video chat. I last saw my niece at Christmas and she has already gotten so much bigger and learned so many new things. In addition to saying what the dog and cat sound like, she also does a bear (roar!), monkey (e! e! e!) and cow. It's so adorable and just melts my heart. It helps bridge the distance and makes me feel like I get to see everyone more often.
Where's your belly?
Cracking each other up
- It's been great to catch up with family and friends this week and enjoy all the simple things I love. 6 more weeks of school and then another break - woo hoo!
